Interview with Manuel and Amélia

1 – What can you tell me about yourselves?

We are a senior couple, whose children have left home and the house has become too big (5-bedroom villa). Our current house has several floors, which makes it uncomfortable and may present mobility difficulties in the future. Hence the decision to live on one floor. As opposed to a large house, there are also the obvious cost savings in terms of energy, water, housekeeping, etc.

2. What made you choose our particular venture?

The location, and the fact that the area is being transformed into a consolidation of more modern buildings with easy circulation in the nearby streets, a new and well-sized road network, combined with the fact that access to the city’s entry and exit routes, both to the north and to the south, is easy. The proximity of areas for walking and everyday shopping (supermarkets, cafés and pharmacies, for example).

The interior architecture of the apartment, which I’ll highlight, has adequate bedroom areas, a good living room and a well-integrated kitchen in “open space”, in line with current trends and adapted to everyday functionality, the absence of wasted areas (halls or long corridors) and, conversely, the generous area of the balcony.

The developer, linked to ARC Homes, has credentials, particularly in Spain, which give it some credibility.

The construction company, Edinorte, has a portfolio of outstanding residential buildings

3. How would you describe your experience buying an apartment in Porto by ARC Homes?

The timing of this development is very important to us: between the promissory contract of purchase and sale and the release of the apartment (license to use), it allows us to sell the house where we currently live without haste.

4. What is the purpose of the purchase? For permanent own housing, to put on the market rental or investment?

In principle, the house is intended for your own permanent residence, but given the time that elapses between this promissory contract and the deed, we can’t rule out different decisions.

5. Would you recommend our business to friends or family? If so, why?

Naturally, choosing a home is a very personal decision and the degree of influence of a friend or family member is of very little relevance. The reasons that lead a person or couple to decide depend on multiple factors and conditioning factors. I have no doubt that for a significant group of people it is the right choice.

Manuel and Amelia.
